Butcher's Dog is a bi-annual poetry magazine founded and published in North East England.
Independent and egalitarian, we print outstanding poems by diverse writers with distinctive voices from across the UK and ROI.
From 2021 we also publish themed anthologies.

To prevent overpayment all active subscriptions have been paused and will be fulfilled upon our return. We are not currently offering subscriptions for sale but you can still buy individual copies of our magazine and anthologies.

On 13th December 2024 the EU introduced GPSR. This regulation means UK sellers must have a representative within the EU to act on their behalf. Without the thousands of pounds such an agent requires, we are unfortunately forced to cease trading with the EU and Northern Ireland.

On 30th July 2025, the United States Government announced a new Executive Order which outlined significant changes to customs obligations and processes for goods being imported into the USA from 29th August 2025. From Friday 29 August 2025 US customs requirements changed. This means that we can, sadly, no longer export our publications to the USA.
